The toi et moi — “you and me” — is the oldest romantic setting in fine jewelry, and still the most direct. Two stones, side by side, equal in weight and utterly different in character. The Amaryllis takes that idea and gives it real presence: two full 2-carat old mine cut cushions, 4 carats total, sunk into a bezel of warm recycled gold.
Old mine cuts were shaped before electric light. The chunky facets, the high crown, the open pinhole culet — all of it was cut to glow under candle flame rather than throw sparkle under a spotlight. The result is slower, warmer light than a modern brilliant, and once you have seen the two next to each other you do not unsee the difference.
